The iPhone is Fast Becoming a Fashion Symbol
Mobile phones have long been something that ‘fashionistas’ have been attracted to. Getting just the right phone, in just the right color, has been a staple of accessorising in fashion for years. Traditionally it has not been just about the phone.
For instance the mobile covers and carry case industry has been big for a long time, with all sorts of styles and designs available for almost every type of mobile out there. The fascia selections for various mobiles had also been big business.
The arrival of the iPhone
But Apple’s iPhone has changed things. Just like the iPod before it Apple’s flagship mobile phone has created a massive splash in the gadget world – and like the iPod it is far from just gadget enthusiasts that are flocking to it, showering it with praise.
If you look at who owns an iPhone now it seems to be almost anyone and everyone. Celebrities, businessmen and teenagers all have the same phone, but use it for very different reasons. Because of this influx of trend setters grabbing the iPhone it is now broadening it’s appeal from those who appreciate it’s functions to those who like to be fashionable.
The celebrity endorsement of the iPhone has led to many people who are swayed by such things to grab one to be like their favourite stars. More than that though people have found that they are including it both as part of their style and as part of their every day usage.
Various covers now exist to change colors so that it always ‘goes’. Functions such as Twitter applications and Facebook applications allow such people to use their favourite social networking site and the real web processes allow them to keep track of the blogs and sites of their favourite fashion leaders such as Lady Gaga.
The iPhone has moved well away from the gadget niche and is fats becoming a must have accessory.
